La Vila Joiosa, historical capital of the Marina Baixa region, is a village on the Costa Blanca (Alicante), in the Valencian Community. It is located 8 km from Benidorm and 32 km from Alicante.
La Vila Joiosa has 15 kilometers of coastline and 13 beaches and coves holding certificates of quality of waters and services. A village with an area of 38,5 kilometers and a population of around 35.000 inhabitants.
Its rich historical and cultural heritage, its extraordinary natural environment, its privileged climate and its location in the heart of the Costa Blanca area, have made it a touristic town . However, it maintains two of its traditional economic activities such as the chocolate industry (with three active factories) and fishing. Two industries that have defined the history of the village and have built the way of being and living of its inhabitants.habitantes.

The location of La Vila Joiosa, just nine meters above sea level, gives it an exceptional climate, typically Mediterranean, throughout the year, with almost 365 days of sunshine, hardly any rain and no frost. In addition, being sheltered by the Sierra Aitana and Puig Campana to the north, it receives all the warmth of the Mediterranean, enjoying an average annual temperature above 18º.
The summers are warm and the winters are moderate, since the average temperature does not drop below 10º on the hardest days. It is common in winter to find days when the thermometers exceed 20º, allowing us to enjoy the privileged natural environment.
The average annual temperature of the Mediterranean Sea is 16.5º, reaching an average of 26.5º in August and 14º in February, which allows many locals and visitors to enjoy the sea all year round.
